Phase I:

This feed mill for The Maschhoffs features 4,800-bushel-per-hour receiving; a 70-ton-per-hour grinding system; 20 ingredient bins with 1,275 tons of storage; and a 4-ton batching and mixing system, including one 13-bin micro system and five metered liquids. One initial pellet mill and counterflow cooler are sized at 40 tons per hour and housed in the mill tower. The pelleting system incorporates a downstream fat roto-coating system above the loadout bins. Loadout utilizes a single driveway with a 10-ton weigh lorry scale. This feed mill has a total finished feed capacity of approximately 833 tons. Additional features to the feed mill include 1.2 million bushels of grain storage, a 30 hp air compressor, a 250 hp gas-fired boiler, and one 650-pound manlift. Extensive site work, paving, water, natural gas, and sewer were completed under a separate contract.

Phase II:

In the spring of 2012, the second 40-ton-per-hour pellet mill and counterflow cooler were installed. With this installation, downstream fat coating was installed above the existing loadout bins.  The boiler was also upgraded to 500 hp.
