Younglove served as the design-build general contractor for Sinclair Milling’s new feed mill in Parkersburg, Iowa. This facility includes a 5,000-cubic-foot-per-hour whole grain transfer system from their existing elevator, a new 12,500-cubic-foot-per-hour ingredient receiving system, a 60-ton-per-hour grinding system, 22 ingredient bins with a total capacity of 2,500 tons of storage, and an 8-ton batching and mixing system (including one 20-bin micro system and one liquid scaling system). Pellet mills are located inside the main structure. The pellet system consists of two 50-ton-per-hour lines with a fat coating system downstream. The loadout structure adjacent to the mill provides 16 bins with a total capacity of 1,800 tons of finished feed and a “precharged” loadout system with the capacity to preload up to 27 tons of finished feed in a single driveway with a weigh lorry scale.
Additional features include one tank farm for three 20,000-gallon fat tanks and three 10,000-gallon liquid poly tanks, two 30 hp compressors, two 250 hp boilers, a 650-pound manlift to provide vertical access from grade level to the top level inside the mill, a 3,300-square-foot warehouse, and tilt-up construction for the ancillary buildings (receiving, grinding, boiler, and warehouse).
Additional Younglove services included consulting work to obtain the environmental permit, as well as paving, water, natural gas, and sewer.
